Our story

It began with one vision in 1981 and one gathering in Toronto in 2008. The church has moved and grown since then, but the message has not changed.

  1. 1981

    A mandate is given

    Bishop David Oyedepo receives an 18-hour vision with a commission to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the Word of faith. Living Faith Church Worldwide grows out of that night.

  2. 2008

    Toronto begins

    On May 4th, a small congregation gathers for the first time to bring the Word of Faith to the Greater Toronto Area.

    A home of our own

    The church moves into 1093 Meyerside Drive in Mississauga, the building we still worship in every week.

    Growing wider

    Several services a week, a Kids Church, teens, young adults and fellowships meeting in homes across the GTA. Same message, more people hearing it.

Founder and President, Living Faith Church Worldwide

“The hour has come to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith.”

In May 1981, Bishop David Oyedepo received a mandate from God in an 18-hour vision. That vision led to the founding of Living Faith Church Worldwide, first called Liberation Faith Hour Ministries, and its first church in Kaduna in 1983.

He has since built Faith Tabernacle in Canaanland, Ota, founded Covenant University in 2002 and Landmark University in 2011, and written more than 100 books. People in 140 to 150 nations follow his teaching every week, and Winners Chapel Toronto is one of the congregations the commission has planted.

Pastor Yemi Awodiran oversees the growth and spiritual wellbeing of the Winners family across the Canadian provinces, Toronto included.

Under his leadership the commission continues to expand its reach and impact across the nation.

    Service starts at 8:00am. Someone from the welcome team will meet you at the door and help you find a seat.

    Praise here is lively and loud. Join in, or take it all in on your first visit.

    A practical message from Scripture, taught so you can put it to work in the week ahead.

    Kids Church

    Children have their own service at the same time, taught at their level.
